On the weekend of June 9-11, 50 ladies from all over the USA attended the 2017 Alpha Phi-nominal Reunion. Friday afternoon the organizing committee and house director Paula Duis welcomed the ladies with t-shirts and commemorative glasses. After finding rooms and friends, we enjoyed Papa Del’s pizza at the house and then ventured our to visit some favorite haunts in Campustown. Just in case you are wondering, some of them have not changed, while others don’t exist anymore!
Saturday began with bagels and fruit for breakfast. Some of the ladies chose to join Carol Chiappe Krohn, ’81 for her now traditional “Workout on the Quad” and it was a beautiful day for it. At noon we enjoyed a wonderful brunch prepared by the great house chef Scott and his crew.
After a photo shoot, the ladies did their own thing Saturday afternoon — shopping, swimming/sunning at the pool at ARC, touring the campus, or just hanging out at the house.
Saturday night we congregated at Legends (previous location of the Deluxe Pool Hall) for food and libations. Everyone loved the opportunity to chat with sisters that we’d lived with and those that we hadn’t. But no matter what the graduation year, Alpha Phi love and sisterhood was tangible the whole evening!
Sunday morning was clean up and check out. The committee appreciated everyone’s cooperation in making the house look just as great as it did when we arrived! Thanks to everyone who came — the weekend was an unconditional success! Shout out to Jeanne Hall Hultquist who came the farthest, from the San Francisco Bay Area. APhis came in from 13 states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
Mark your calendars for the summer of 2022, which will mark the 100th anniversary of Beta Alpha!
